Pairing an electric fire with a 75 inch TV is mostly about width. A fire that runs slightly wider than the screen frames the wall and looks deliberate; one that is narrower makes the TV look top-heavy. For a 75 inch TV we recommend the Econovex 2000.

Why the Econovex 2000 suits a 75 inch TV
A 75 inch screen is about 1660 mm wide. The 2000 (2032 mm recess) runs about 185 mm wider each side for a grand, balanced look. The 1800 also suits a 75 inch TV, sitting about 70 mm wider each side.
| Fire | Fire width | Wider than a 75" TV by | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Econovex 2000 (recommended) | 2032 mm | 372 mm (about 186 mm each side) | 3-sided deep, 3kW heater |
| Econovex 1800 | 1800 mm | 140 mm (about 70 mm each side) | 3-sided deep, 3kW heater |
| Econovex EB1900 75" | 1899 mm | 239 mm (about 120 mm each side) | Built-in, front glass only |
TV widths are typical for a 75 inch 16:9 screen (1660 mm). Check your own TV's width without the stand.
Media wall measurements for a 75 inch TV
- Chimney breast width: for 3-sided glass, build the breast to the fire's recess width (2032 mm) so both end panels are on show. For a front-only look, make it wider and the ends are covered.
- Fire opening: 560 mm high and 300 mm deep (deep models). Build the opening to the recess size on the product page.
- Height of the TV: the fire needs 150 mm clear below it and 200 mm to anything above it, including a TV. With the fire's 570 mm overall height, the bottom of the TV sits at least 920 mm from the floor. Most people go a little higher for a comfortable viewing angle from the sofa.
- Furniture: keep sofas, curtains and anything combustible at least 1 m from the front of the fire.
Running costs
The deep Econovex models have a 3kW PTC heater with two settings. At the October 2026 Ofgem price cap rate of 26.32p per kWh, that is about 39p an hour on low (1.5kW) and 79p an hour on high (3kW). The slimline models have a 1.5kW fan-assisted heater, about 39p an hour on full heat.
